Lorne Bruce Dueck
1958 ~ 2024

It is with sad, but grateful, hearts that we announce the passing of Lorne Dueck. We are sad that he is gone but grateful for the life we shared with him.

Lorne was born on May 29, 1958 at Bethel Hospital in Winkler, Manitoba.

He is survived by his wife Bev, son Jeff (Angie), step-daughter Rachel, granddaughters Cassidy and Danielle, brothers Edward (Mary) Reimer, Mervin (Helen) Reimer, Harvey (Martha) Dueck,

Raymond (Barb) Dueck, Peter (Marge) Dueck, Leonard (Vicki) Dueck, Harold (Bev) Dueck and many, many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents Peter and Marie Dueck, his beloved sister Marion (Jake) Friesen, brother Terry Reimer, sister-in-law Doreen Reimer and his daughter Ashley Krahn.

Lorne will be remembered for his faith in God, and for how deeply he cared for his wife, children, family and many, many friends. He had a unique laugh that made everyone laugh along with him. Even though his passing was sudden, Lorne had conversations with his family members that made us feel loved and like we had a final goodbye. While we hoped to have a little more time with him, he was heartbroken over the death of his daughter, Ashley, in February that led to his passing away on March 5, 2024. We, his family and friends, are grateful for our time with

Lorne and will miss him deeply.

A note from Jeff:

Dad was small in stature but had the heart of a giant. He had a quadruple bypass surgery in 2008. We were blessed to have him for another 15 years. He loved fiercely and put everyone before himself. Even when his own health was failing, his concern was for his family and needing to know they were ok. The coffee shop was Dad’s stage. He had the greatest laugh. His humor and genuine concern for others made him loved and appreciated by those who were fortunate enough to know him. We went for countless coffees when I was growing up. I was so proud to be with him as I felt like he was a celebrity. I was blessed to have such an amazing father. We were closer than most fathers and sons. He would often look back and wish he had done better. Dad, I would not change a thing! You were my best friend when I needed one. You were an older brother when we joked and teased each other. And, most importantly, you were my Dad when I needed love and support. Thank you for the amazing legacy you have left all of us. You are loved and missed by so many. Hold Ashley tight for me. Till we meet again.

Funeral will take place on Saturday, March 16th at 11:00 am at Christ Lutheran Church in Morden, followed by interment at Miami Cemetery.
