Reinhold (Rienold) Holenski

August 22,1938 – November 19, 2023

Survived by his wife Wendy, daughter Gail (Rod), grandkids Kevin, David and Amber (Adam), great grandkids Louise and Rosa. Daughters Cathy (Mark), Connie (Wayne), Diane (Bim), grandsons Rabin and Khetan, nephew Norm (Tracy) and family.

Rienold was a farmer who loved his family first and foremost. He was a very active member of the community all his life. He received his Ag diploma at UofM and came home to farm with his dad, then son-in-law and daughter, and grandson. He was a leader of the Windygates 4-H Beef Club (25 years), and a Councillor for the R.M. of Pembina for many years, where he joined the planning committee for the BTHC. He was also a Director for the Manitoba Cattle Producers for 4 years, and a member of the Masonic Lodge, just to name a few.

He loved his family, travelling, dancing, fishing, and his cats. His unique laugh and ability to tell an unexpected joke is something we will all remember.

Despite his health issues, he was determined to find a way to get into the combine this fall where he enjoyed two days of harvesting. We’re sure the neighbors will miss seeing his old grey Chevy truck touring the community.

Rest well Dad. We’re drinking your scotch.
