1937 - 2023

On Tuesday January 10, 2023 at the Salem Personal Care Home, Mary Friesen, aged 85 years of Winkler, MB went to her eternal rest.

She leaves to mourn her passing two sons, Ray and Virginia Friesen and their three daughters, Allison (Ryan), Jillian (Kyle), and Jocelynne, Garry and special friend, Jan and two daughters, Trista (Kai) and Shayna; two daughters, Phyllis and Pete Thiessen, their three sons, Scott (Jeimy), Jamie (Kim) and Cameron (Adrienne), Janice and Tim Bjornson and their daughter, Caitlyn and also seven great grandchildren. She also leaves to mourn her passing one sister, Marge Unger. She was predeceased by her husband, William Friesen in June of 2011.

Memorial service at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday January 15, 2023 at the Winkler Sommerfeld Mennonite Church with interment prior to the service at the Winkler Cemetery.

The family would like to thank all of the staff at the Salem Personal Care Home for the compassionate and professional care that they provided for mom while she was a resident there, as well as for being her caring friends while she resided there. The family would also like to thank Wiebe Funeral Home for their service and Reverend Aron Friesen of the Salem Personal Care Home for officiating at mom’s memorial service. The family would also like to thank the catering and service staff for all of their efforts at the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mary’s memory to the Salem Foundation Inc.
