Memorial service will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday June 4, 2022 at the Winkler Mennonite Brethren Church with private interment prior to the service. Viewing will be from 1PM-6PM on Friday at Wiebe Funeral Home, Winkler. Donations may be made in Doreen's memory to the Winkler Bible Camp and Central Station Community Centre

Doreen Anne Penner (nee Siemens)

1941 – 2022

Doreen Penner of Winkler, MB formerly of Plum Coulee passed away Tuesday May 31, 2022 at Boundary Trails Health Centre.

Born September 28, 1941 in Winkler, Manitoba to Henry C. and Annie (nee Heppner) Siemens, Doreen was raised on a farm north of Plum Coulee in the Grossweide area. She was baptized on confession of her faith in spring of 1959 at the Plum Coulee Bergthaler Church. She met Wayne Penner in 1965 and they married in the spring of 1966. Together they were blessed with four children. Doreen was very involved on the farm from seeding to harvest. Gardening and keeping the yard were her passions. Doreen began working at Salem Home in the fall of 1988, until her retirement in 2005. She continued to volunteer at Salem Home and church until March of 2020.

Doreen was predeceased by her parents and her sister, Elma. She is survived by her husband, Wayne, four children, nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and two brothers.
