Jacob (Jake) Suderman
1958 ~ 2022
With heavy hearts we announce that our father, Jake Suderman passed away peacefully at Brandon Hospital on January 7, 2022. We are sad he had to go so soon but grateful he can reunite with the love of his life, our mom who passed away in August 2021. Our dad will be missed by his children and grandchildren, his mom, siblings and extended family.
Our dad was born on June 21, 1958 in Winkler, MB to Abram and Helena Suderman. He comes from a family of 10 children, and he was the oldest boy. Dad would share many memories of his childhood. We believe his love of music started at a very young age. Dad would talk about collecting records which he did up until his death, collecting thousands upon thousands of records. Dad didn’t play an instrument but that did not stop him from appreciating music and enjoying as many music nights as he could. Music was a source of joy after moms passing. We believe he found comfort and joy in the friends he made through the music nights. Dad also had a love of cars and racing his Duster. Dad would often talk about having the fastest car in town. It was through the love of fast cars our parents met. Our parents were baptized together on the confession of their faith on June 5, 1979 and married on July 22, 1979. Our parents were blessed with 42 years of marriage and 4 children. The Bible was the rock they stood on when mom got sick, and when mom passed away, dad leaned heavily on God's word for hope and strength to carry on. Mom and dad owned various businesses together. Dad loved working right beside our mom even if that meant driving mom to appointments or working long hours together when they had the toy store. Our dad loved our mom very much. He shared stories of the many nights they would stay up until the middle of the night talking. They would dream of their next adventure - whether this was traveling, the next business, or the farmyard they both still longed for. Our mom and dad were one. When mom passed away, our dad's heart was broken and he was not sure how he would go on. His passing is hard for the loved ones left behind, but we know they are together again. We know they are enjoying the splendor of heaven. We know our dad is happy. We know we will see our parents again. It is not goodbye but “See ya later”. We love you, dad. Say "Hi" to mom for us.
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28
