George Ketler

1978 - 2020

George Ketler, aged 41, of Lowe Farm, MB passed away suddenly on Monday, May 11, 2020 after a single vehicle accident near Sperling, MB.

George was born in Mexico to Johan and Susana Ketler on September 26, 1978 and moved to Canada in 1986, residing in the Winkler/Roland area. He met his wife, Annie when he was 20 and was baptized on confession of his faith and married 2000. George worked at Integra, Monarch, Diamond Doors before he started concrete work building bin pads with his family. George enjoyed spending time with his family and friends in the great outdoors camping, fishing, and hiking. He loved taking leisurely rides in the country, admiring the beautiful scenery, or spending time around the bonfire with family and friends. The family enjoyed his witty sarcastic remarks which brought many laughs. If anyone needed help, he was always more than willing to lend a hand with a warm and caring heart. He loved spending time with his nieces and nephews, listening to their stories; they always put a smile on his face or made him laugh while sharing candy with them. Animals and plants were a large part of his life. Whether the animal was wild or domestic, George believed he could tame them all. The last few years his passion was birds; Paris was George’s African Gray Parrot who rarely left his side and stayed by his side till the end. Growing plants was another passion of his, making a garden, experimenting with new seeds or growing his avocado plants. George was very skilled at many things, carving perches for his birds and plants. He experimented with old or new recipes and his amazing chili we will forever miss.

George was predeceased by his father in-law, Jacob Wiebe. He leaves behind his loving wife, Annie, two sons, Scott and Travis, his daughter, Mackenzie, his parents, Johan and Susan Ketler, his siblings, Henry (Anna), Kat (Martin), John (Tara), Susie (Frank), along with his mother in-law, Sara Wiebe, John and Sara Giesbrecht, Jake and Rachel Wiebe, Lena Wiebe along with nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, that will forever love him and miss him. Smile, God loves you.
