Jacob Hiebert
1947 – 2019

It has been the will of our Lord to take from us through natural death, my husband, our father, grandfather and great grandfather, Jacob Hiebert.

He was born on December 23, 1947 in Mexico. His parents were Jacob and Katharina Hiebert (maiden name, Bueckert). Upon confession of his faith in Jesus Christ as his personal Savior, he was baptized on May 15, 1967 by Bishop Abram Schmidt and became a member of the Old Colony Church in Mexico. He married Aganetha Teichroeb on July 2, 1967 and they had eight children, four sons and four daughters. They shared joys and sorrow for 52 years and six days. He grew up in Mexico for his first five years and moved to B.C for five years. Then he moved back to Mexico. He had three years of schooling in B.C. and three years in Mexico. After he married mom, they lived in Mexico for two years and then in Bolivia for 13 years, then back to Canada and the for last 25 years they lived in Plum Coulee.

He was a dentist and here in Canada, he worked at Triple E, Kroekers and Farm King. He enjoyed traveling and music. He had fairly good health most of his life until 2008 when he had two heart attacks. About five years ago, he had pneumomia and was very sick. The last 18 months, he dealt with cancer and was very sick for the last four days. He reached the age of 71 years, six months and 15 days.

Jacob is survived by his wife, Aganetha, four sons, four daughters, three sons-in-law. Four daughters-in-law, 42 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, six sisters, three half-sisters, seven brothers-in-law and their families. He was predeceased by his parents, three grandchildren, one great grandchild, two half-brothers, one half-sister and two brothers-in-law.

Funeral service at 2:00 p.m. on Friday July 12, 2019 at the German Old Colony Mennonite Church with interment at the Church Cemetery.

We sorrow but not as such who have no hope; but we believe that he, through God’s grace and mercy will have received that eternal home prepared for all believers. The family would like to express their appreciation for all the visits, the assistance given and the prayers for him and the family. Special thanks to home care and the Boundary Trails Health Centre staff for the good care provided to him. Thank you to the song leaders, ushers and serving group, to Wiebe Funeral Home for their kind compassionate services. Thank you all and may God bless you for it. The Family
