Henry Koetler
1953 - 2019
Henry Koetler was born on December 22, 1953 in Mexico where he grew up until he met the love of his life Margaret. They were married in August 1974 and shortly afterward made their home in Manitoba where they started their family. He worked many jobs and then was injured which led to many disabilities and frustration of always being in pain. In September 2017 Henry and Margaret moved to Winkler into their new condo where they were going to start their retirement. He spent most of his days on the couch looking at the window, where they were building new condos across the street. He enjoyed his grandchildren tremendously. He was very proud of each and every one of them. Another enjoyment was when his neighbors would walk or drive by. They were always sure to wave. Unfortunately, this was short lived as he was hospitalized and then diagnosed with cancer.
Henry passed away peacefully at the Altona Community Memorial Health Centre with his wife and two of his daughters by his side.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret and six children: Susie and (Dale) Falk, Anna and (Calvin) Tolton and their children, Sebastian, Olivia and Haydn, Tina and (Mike) Friesen and their children, Dawson, Liam and Lanea, Peter and (Lori) Koetler and their daughter, Nova, Jake and (Taylor) Koetler and new baby, Nita and (Paul) Reimer and their children, Moriah, Dominic, Seth and Emmett. He is also survived by six siblings and many in-laws, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, five siblings and many in-laws, nieces and nephews.
A private family service was held at Wiebe Funeral Home, Winkler with interment at Westridge Memorial Gardens.
The family would like to thank Dr. Winning, the Altona Hospital Nursing Staff and the Altona Palliative Care for the use of the rooms and care received, Wiebe Funeral Home and all of our family and friends for all of the prayers, food, well wishes and support though out this time.
