 Frank Isaac

1929 - 2017

As the sun was rising on a warm fall morning October 17, 2017 our dear dad passed away peacefully and entered into the presence of Jesus Christ his Savior and Lord.

Dad was born September 17, 1929 in Whitewater, Manitoba to Heinrich and Susanna (nee Fast) Isaac. He was the first of his siblings to be born in Canada. Dad married the love of his life Elsie Rempel May 4, 1958 in Plum Coulee, Manitoba. They settled in Morden where they raised their two children- Ruth and Donald. Dad spent most of his adult life working at Dack's Pharmacy where he was a store clerk. He loved retail and interacting with customers each day. He walked to work and hardly ever missed a day of work. He had a strong work ethic. He instilled the importance of working hard to his family. He came to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ in his mid 30's and was baptized upon the confession of his faith and became a member of the Morden Mennonite Brethren Church - now Westside Community Church. He became active in the church serving as usher, singing the church choir and male choir and also helping mom and Ruth with preschool Sunday school. He was a man of few words but he demonstrated his love for others as he lived out his faith. He was always ready to help the less fortunate. He loved Morden his hometown. He regularly wound the town clock weekly for many years climbing the ladder right to the top. He was always happy to show it to news reporters and anyone interested in hearing his stories about the clock. What fun it was when he would take us kids up to the top and look over Main Street. Dad retired at age 65 when Dack's Pharmacy was sold and now another journey began for mom and dad. They had the opportunity to spend more time together and visiting family.

Mom passed away May 20, 2009. This was a difficult time for all of us but especially dad who lost his life partner. But he stepped up and together with Ruth life carried on. He enjoyed going out for meals especially Chicken Chef. He had friends and neighbors who picked him up for coffee to McDonald's. He still walked everyday too. November 2014 dad fell and broke his hip which changed his life and ours forever. He had surgery at HSC and then spent the next 6 months at BTHC. He never was able to walk on his own again. He was admitted to Tabor Home personal care home in Morden April 2015 where he'd reside until his passing. Dad adjusted well to Tabor enjoying the many activities provided there. He waited for Ruth's visit every evening. Ruth often took him out on Sundays for car rides which was a highlight for him. This spring he started talking about going home to heaven. He prepared us for the day when it would come. In summer he gradually stopped eating and eventually stopped drinking. He was finished with his life on this earth and longed for heaven. Dad passed away peacefully October 17, 2017 with Ruth and Don by his side at the age 88 years, one month and 4 days.

Dad will be sadly missed by daughter Ruth Isaac of Morden, son Don and daughter in law, Carmen Isaac of Bedford Texas. Also he will be missed by his brother James Isaac of Winnipeg and his sister Betty Hoeppner (Frank) of Morden and sister in law Helen Isaac of Chilliwack, B.C. Also many nieces and nephews and neighbors. He will also be remembered by mom's brothers and wives and their families. He was predeceased by his wife Elsie (nee Rempel) May, 2009. Also his parents Henry and Susan Isaac, 2 brothers, 1 sister, 1 sister in law and 1 brother in law. And also many of mom's family. Dad will be remembered for his generous spirit and caring heart. He also believed in us and was proud of us. Dad was a prayer warrior and we will miss his prayers for us. We sorrow but not as those who have no hope. We look forward to the day when we will be reunited together as a family. What a day that will be! 'I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day - and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing'

Memorial service at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday October 22, 2017 at Westside Community Church with interment prior at Southside Cemetery. If you so desire donations may be made to Tabor Home activities dept. where dad enjoyed games and entertainment, especially the singing groups. Many thanks to the many who cared for our dad over the years. Mary Benson and her home care team, Boundary Trails Health Center, Dr. Mansour his family doctor, and Doctors at Tabor especially Dr. Jackson. Sincere thanks to all the management and staff at Tabor Home. He prayed for you every night.
