 Michael Victor Krassman

1959 - 2017

Mike was born on July 13th, 1959 in Regina, Saskatchewan to Vic and Myrna Krassman.  Most of Mike’s childhood was spent in Indian Head, Saskatchewan until the family moved to Morden, Manitoba in 1972.

Flying light aircraft was Mike’s passion as a teenager.  He successfully acquired his private pilot’s license, his night endorsement and was working on his commercial license when he decided to take a job in agriculture parts in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan.

Mike moved back to Brandon, Manitoba in 1994 and started his career as Parts Manager for Maxim International Trucks.  He loved his job and was highly regarded by his fellow employees and customers.  In 2002, Mike’s dream came true when his son, Aiden came into this world.  Mike took on Fatherhood like it was the best airplane he would ever fly.  In the words of a close friend, Mike was meant to be a Dad.

In 2007, Mike was diagnosed with myelodysplastic syndrome.  He went through years of blood transfusions, challenging pharmaceutical treatments and finally a stem cell transplant in early 2015.  Just when he thought he had beaten the odds, he was diagnosed with leukemia in August 2017 and passed away on October 16, 2017.  Mike’s strength and commitment over the past ten years could not have been more fierce.  Sadly, it wasn’t enough to beat cancer.

Mike leaves to mourn his passing: Son, Aiden; Mother, Myrna; Sisters, Shelley and Tracy (Mark), Sister in law, Pam, Niece, Aislyn, Nephew, Colten.  Mike was predeceased by his Father, Vic; Brother, Todd; Grandparents, Norma and Norbert Bernett and Louis and Agatha Krassman.

Donations in memory of Mike may be made to Canadian Blood Services.
