 Jacob Voth

1958 - 2017

On September 15, 2017 surrounded by family, Jake Voth left his earthly home to be with the Lord.  Jacob was born in Chihuahua Mexico on December 10 1958 to Frank and Helena Voth (Thiesen).  Jake was the second oldest of 7 Children.

On June 9, 1980 he was baptized upon the confession of his faith in Sommerfeld church, Chihuahua Mexico, making a recommitment to Christ years later in 1995.

Jake was joined in marriage to Sandra Voth on November 11, 1980.  Together they had 6 children, 4 boys and 2 girls.  In 1982 they moved from their home in Mexico to Alberta Canada and in 1987 made a permanent move to Manitoba.

Jakes love for music was very evident and he spent much of his waking hours listening to and playing music.  He was very talented at playing the guitar as well as the accordion and he was always eager to play when friends or family were around.   Jake also had a special love for animals.  Besides his dog Bella he also cared for several cats and birds.  There was always room in his heart and home for an animal that needed a place.  In 2014 Jake bought a house in Emerson Manitoba.  A place that Jake loved and talked about a lot was the Trans Canada Trail in Emerson where he spent many hours working on and maintaining the trail.  Jake also loved to fish and spent a lot of time fishing with his children and grandchildren.  They will always remember the special times they had together with him.

In spring of 2017 Jake got sick and shortly after was diagnosed with Colon cancer.  He had a strong desire to beat it and battled his cancer right to the end.  Just a few weeks before he passed he was making plans to buy a camper and go to B.C.  Sadly Jakes health took a turn this past week and he was admitted to the Morris hospital on Wednesday September 13th where he stayed until his passing on Friday September 15th.  Jake was predeceased by his Father, Frank Voth and his Mother, Helena Thiesen.  He leaves to mourn his ex-wife Sandra Pena, his children Jaime, Marco, Sandra, Roberto, Johnny, Natalia and their children as well as his siblings, Frank, Susan, Jon, Helena, Peter and Abe.

The family would like to express their thanks to the doctors and nurses at the Morris General Hospital for the wonderful care Jake received these last days.
