Cecil John Penner

May 31, 1939 – April 18, 2015

 

Cecil penner sqCecil Penner passed away peacefully at Salem Home surrounded by many family members. He is survived by his loving wife, Myrna (nee Janzen); his children, Karen Kehler (Dennis), Robert Penner (Dorthy), and Steve Penner (Stephanie); his six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He is also survived by his siblings: Walter Penner, Verla Suderman (Jim), and Vera Suderman (Peter). He was predeceased by his father, Bernard Penner; his mother, Anna (Penner) Born; his step-father, Rev. A. H. Born; and his sister-in-law, Ella Penner, one brother, David who died in infancy and one brother, Raymond who was stillborn. Cecil was baptized in May of 1961.  

Cecil was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a hardworking man who always provided for his family.  In later years Cecil suffered greatly from poor health. Though he will be greatly missed, his family is glad that he is finally free of the chains of poor health.

Memorial service at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at Emmanuel Mennonite Church in Winkler with a prior interment at Westridge Memorial Gardens. Thank you for all the support provided by family, friends and the staff at Salem Home. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Cecil’s memory to Salem Home Foundation Inc.
