Arthur Walter Hemminger

a hemmingerIt is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Arthur Hemminger of Darlingford, MB on March 7, 2015. He was a proud husband, father and grandfather. Arthur leaves to mourn his passing his beloved wife, Brenda (nee Smith) of Darlingford; his daughter, Janet (Daniel) Pollit of Richmond Hill, Ontario, his son, Grant (Adrianna) Hemminger of Maple Ridge, BC, his grandchildren, Adam and Lori Pollit and Zack and Emma Hemminger, brothers, Bernard (Doreen) Hemminger of Morden and Herbert (Jean) Hemminger of Winnipeg, sisters-in-law, Audrey and Helen Hemminger and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Celia (Rudolph) Titchkosky and brothers, Clifford and Leonard Hemminger.

Arthur was born south of Morden. He worked in the mines in Lynn Lake, Flin Flon and in British Columbia, as well as in the logging camps of British Columbia before settling down to farming in Windygates. In 1964, he married Brenda Smith of Winnipeg and had two children, Janet and Grant. In 1978, they moved from Windygates to Darlingford but continued to farm their land in Windygates until 2004.

Funeral service at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday March 14, 2015 at Wiebe Funeral Chapel in Morden with interment at Hillside Cemetery. The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the doctors and staff of the Boundary Trails Health Centre with a special note of appreciation to their family doctor, Dr. Carol Holmes. The family would also like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Wiebe Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, if family and friends so desire, donations may be made in Arthur’s memory to the Boundary Trails Health Centre Foundation.
