William (Bill) John Edward Lawrie
1945 – 2014
On Thursday December 18, 2014 at Boundary Trails Health Centre, Bill Lawrie aged 69 years of Morden, MB passed away after a brief illness.
Beloved son of the late John and Joyce Lawrie, he is survived by his sister and brother-in-law. Sharon and Ken Yates of St. Jean Sur Richelieu, Quebec, his nephews, Chris, Dan and Ted Yates of Montreal and his honourary niece and nephew, Kelly Loutchan of Winnipeg and Keith Cumming of Waterloo, ON. He is also survived by his aunt Sybil Allen of Perth, ON and many cousins.
Bill was born in Winnipeg, MB but has lived since the age of seven in Morden. Despite his many challenges since birth, Bill enjoyed life. He was interested in many things especially football and hockey. He loved his family and friends and loved to joke and tease and carry on long conversations. His wit and great sense of humour were a delight. Bill resided for the last years of his life at the Association for Community Living residence on 7th St. in Morden and at Tabor Home. Many thanks to the staffs at both of these places; Erin and Lissa, his community workers, the nurses who gave Bill such good care especially Derrick, Ryan, Kelly, Mandy and Evelyn, Morris Vincent, Erin Lancaster and all the others.
Funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday December 23, 2014 at St. Thomas Anglican Church with ash interment in the spring at Chapel Cemetery. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Bill’s memory to either the Association of Community Living or the Tabor Home Building Fund.
