Brooklyn Sage Dakota Giesbrecht

2005 - 2014

Born May 3, 2005 at Boundary Trails Health Centre, Brooklyn reached the tender age of nine and a half years.  After a lengthy, courageous battle with cancer, she lost the fight on Wednesday November 12, 2014 at the Children’s Hospital with Anthony, Amanda and Misty at her side.

Brooklyn was in grade four and excited to attend school and play with her friends. During the course of her short life she spent approximately two years in and out of hospital accompanied by her family.  In spite of her many stays and trips to the hospital she had a very positive and outspoken outlook on life!

Brooklyn is survived by her parents Anthony and Amanda (nee Dyck) Giesbrecht, older sister Misty, grandparents Frank and Dorothy (nee Hiebert) Giesbrecht, Walter and Sadie (Sarah, nee Fehr) Dyck, Rick and Sara Giesbrecht (Terry), Jeff and Bonnie Giesbrecht, John and Peg Peters (Megan, Colton), Greg and Melissa Krahn (Brittney, Jayver), Aldon Dyck and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral service to celebrate Brooklyn’s life at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at Bethel Bergthaler Mennonite Church, Hochfeld with interment at Westridge Memorial Gardens.
