1929 - 2014
It is with heavy hearts and thankful prayers that we released our precious husband, dad, grandpa and great grandpa to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 29th, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. Dad had spent the past three weeks in Boundary Trails Health Centre after becoming overcome with weakness while at home. He was lovingly cared for in the hospital by the medical staff and his family, but on Monday, April 28th, 2014, it became evident that he would not be healed while on this earth. We, his family hugged, kissed and loved him right up to the waiting arms of Jesus.
Norman leaves to mourn his fabulous wife of almost 62 years, Sue, his daughter, Bonnie and her husband, Eldon, his special grandchildren, Shawna and Jeremy Lumgair, Ryan and Charity Gerbrandt, Tara and Andrew Braun, Cameron and Jillian Gerbrandt, his eight beautiful great grandchildren, Avery and Rory Lumgair, Leah, Mason and Owen Braun, Ethne, Levi and Cohen Gerbrandt. Norman also will be missed by his one brother, Rob and two sisters, Joyce and Karen and their families. Dad was predeceased by his only son, Grant on April 11, 2011. How very much dad missed Grant and how precious our memories are of their reunion up in heaven.
Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday May 3, 2014 at Winkler Bergthaler Mennonite Church with interment at Winkler Cemetery.
We as a family would like to say a special THANKYOU to all the medical staff at Boundary Trails Health Centre, Dr. Kris Roberts, Dr. Dixon, our special friend, Robert Schulz and Tina and Sylvia who hugged us through the final hours. Thank you also to the Salem Home staff who dad was so excited to spend time with on Mondays and Wednesdays. Thank you Pastor John and Menno, Shirley and Susan (staff at Bergthaler Church), Kiley and staff at Wiebe Funeral Home for your kind and caring help. Our hearts are once again overwhelmed with the compassion and prayers of our many friends. How could we possibly walk this journey without all of you. We are so Blessed!
