William E “Bill” Thiessen

1928 - 2014

Bill Thiessen, aged 85 years passed away at his home on Sunday February 23, 2014.

Bill was born to his parents, Wilhelm and Maria (nee Fehr) Thiessen on December 21, 1928 in Schoenwiese, MB. He is survived by three sisters, Betty and John Toews, Kate and Ed Klassen, Anne and Allen Recksiedler as well as two brothers, John and Linda, Jake and Tina and brother-in-law, Peter Letkeman, two sisters-in-law, Katherine Thiessen and Tina Thiessen and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Mary and her husband Martin Giesbrecht, sister, Helen Letkeman, brother, Peter and his wife, Susan, brother, Cornie and his parents.

Funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday February 27, 2014 at Winkler Sommerfeld Mennonite Church with interment at Westridge Memorial Gardens.

The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness! The Lord is my inheritance; therefore I will hope in Him. Lamentation 3:22-23. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Bill’s memory to the Canadian Food Grains Bank.
