Enns, Ronald

Ronald (Ron) Enns

1948 - 2014

IMG 0001 3Suddenly, on Tuesday October 28th, 2014 Ron suffered a heart attack and was taken from us to his eternal rest.

He was born to Abe I. and Nettie Enns on November 26th, 1948 and spent his growing up years in Schanzenfeld.  Ron was baptized in the Winkler Sommerfeld Church on May 24, 1970. Ron was married to Anne Derksen on March 2, 1975 and in August of 1979 his daughter, Teresa was born. Ron and Anne lived in Schanzenfeld until they moved to Winkler in 1992.  Ron spent all of his adult life trucking for various companies; but he was also known by many as “The Garage Door Guy” after he began selling and fixing garage doors.  Anyone who met Ron was greeted with a smile, and quite often a joke.  Some of his passions in life were spending time fishing, camping and watching sports, particularly the Winkler Flyers.

He is survived by his wife, Anne, his daughter, Teresa and his son-in-law, Jeremy, his sisters, Helen Harder (Bill), Kathy Wall (Bill), Betty Epp (Doug), Kris Derksen (Ron) and his brother, Jim (Janice) and many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his father, Abe I Enns in 1970 and his mother, Nettie in 2010.

Memorial service was held on Sunday November 2, 2014 at the Winkler EMM Church with the interment prior in Reinfeld.

If friends desire donations may be made to the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Winnipeg, or Youth for Christ Canada.

The family wishes to thank the emergency workers who were on site at the time of Ron’s death and Wiebe Funeral Home for all their compassionate care. We are also so grateful to the many family and friends who have shown their support and given us comfort through prayers, visits, calls and food.

Dear Anne & Teresa, my sincerest condolences to you in the sudden loss of Ron. I would love to be there to at least give you a hug, but because distance doesn't allow me that privilege I want you to know that I care that you are hurting deeply. May God's love keep you strong in your faith.
