Aganetha “Neta” Klassen (nee Fehr)

May 5, 1925 – Sept. 4, 2013

klassen aganetha sqNeta Klassen at the age of 88 years of Winkler MB, passed away peacefully at Boundary Trails Health Centre on September 4, 2013.

Neta was born at home in Kronsthal district on May 5, 1925.  She was the 13th out of 15 children born to Isaac and Barbara Fehr.  Neta was baptized in the Sommerfeld Church in Rudnerweide by Bishop Peter A. Toews in 1945. Mom found the love of her life and was married to George P. Klassen on Oct 23 1947. After having the wedding on our grandparents homestead they moved to Blumenfeld to start their own life.  Our parents spent their time helping out on grandpa’s farm.  After earning enough money Mom and Dad were able to build their first home in Blumenfeld.  Mom devoted her life to raising her four children and working on the farm.  There were many challenges in life, but always finding strength in God, Mom became a very successful wife and mother. After retiring from the farm in Blumenfeld, our parents moved to Winkler in 1988.  Mom would continue to do things for her family such as babysitting, helping with functions and always cooking and serving wonderful meals.  Mom also was the main care giver for our sister Barb. Later on in life Dad developed Alzheimer’s and this too made Mom’s life a lot more challenging.  Mom endured the challenge of planning a funeral for Barb in August 2011 and most recently our Dad, George P. in August 2013.  Mom had been able to provide care to both of them before they went to meet their Maker, Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour.

Mom leaves to mourn her three sons, Jake and Linda Klassen with their children,

Tammy and Warren Wall (Teagan,Cale, and Taya), Candace and Dale Toews, (Renna), Mark and Jenn Klassen, Isaac and Tina Klassen with their children Curt and Annie Klassen (Kylie), Pam Klassen and Janell Klassen, George and Agatha Klassen with their children, Isaiah Armstrong and Candace Armstrong. Mom was predeceased by one daughter, Barbara Klassen in 2011 and her husband, George P. Klassen on August 4, 2013.

Funeral service was held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday September 8, 2013 at Winkler Sommerfeld Mennonite Church with interment at Westridge Memorial Gardens.

We the family would like to express our sincere thanks to the staff of Boundary Trails Health Centre, Dr. Booy, family for providing meals, ushers, pianist, Bertha Wall, church caretakers, serving group, song leaders, Ernie Ens for the P. A., Wiebe Funeral Home and for all those who kept us up in prayers.  A special thank you to Rev. Abe Wiebe and Bishop Dave Wiebe for fulfilling Mom’s last wishes. Mom will be sadly missed by the family and her friends, but mom left a legacy in each one of us that will never be forgotten.  Till we meet again. With all our love, the Klassen family.
