Katherine Ginter (nee Reimer)

1923 - 2012 

ginter_katherine_sqPeacefully at Golden West Centennial Lodge, Monday, December 3, 2012, Katherine Ginter of Morden, MB, passed away at the age of 88 years. 

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Gerry and wife, Gail, daughter, Sandra and husband, Randy, granddaughters, Jaime (Andre), Lindsay (Rory), Ashley (John) and grandson, Rob. Kathy was also blessed with three great-grandchildren, Jack, Grace and Luc. Kathy is also survived by her brother, Phil (Anne) Reimer and sister-in-law, Lill Reimer. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Cornie in 1988, her parents, four brothers and two sisters. 

Mom lived a long and healthy life. She was born and raised in Morden, MB, where she met the love of her life Cornie and they were happily married for forty years. She was a devoted member of St. Paul’s United Church and served on various committees, including the UCW and Mission Band. Her involvement with Victoria Rebekah Lodge #15 brought her great joy and fulfillment. Mom and Dad loved to entertain and hosted many family dinners and card parties with friends. She was an excellent hostess and cook and her recipes will be cherished by her family. Mom had many wonderful friends in Morden and loved spending time with them. In her passing, she has left a great void in our lives; however, she has left us with the blessing of her memory which we will hold dear forever. 

A celebration of her life was held on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at 2:00pm at St. Paul’s United Church in Morden. Interment followed at Hillside Cemetery. 

The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at Golden West Centennial Lodge for their excellent care in the final years of Mom’s life. So sorry to hear of your Mom's passing, she was truly a kind, gentle soul. I will always remember the times I spent in your home with great fondness and always think of Kathy as my second teen years Mom. Hold your memories close and may they comfort you at this difficult time.

We were sorry to hear of Kathy's passing. We always enjoyed visiting with her. She always made you feel special. I know Mom misses her friend greatly.
