Evelyn Helena Evenson

1944 - 2012

Evelyn_EvensonEvelyn “Evy” Evenson, 68 years of Winnipeg formerly of Reinland, MB went to be with her Lord on Thursday September 6, 2012 after succumbing to cancer at St. Boniface Hospital. She was born on May 25, 1944 to Katherina Klassen and Francis Evenson both of whom she leaves to mourn her departure - as well as her three sons: Tony (Julie) Ricard, Dan (Desiree) Ricard, Maurice (Nicole) Ricard, nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren and two brothers. Evy treasured the friends and years of her youth especially playing baseball, singing in choir and being on the farm. She loved to write, study nature and masterfully create and gift crafts of all kinds. She moved to Winnipeg where she was married and worked at VIA Rail and later Fabricland until her retirement. She faithfully cared for her ailing mother and loved her grandchildren. Evy’s special joy was reconnecting with her childhood friends in later life.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for Thou art with me” - Psalm 23:4

My condolences go to all the family in the death of your Mother. She was a crafty and independent person. I enjoyed being a fellow worker at Fabricland with her and continued friendship after we both retired. I will miss her.

Five years ago today I watched as you drew your last breath, still wish we could have talked for awhile. I miss you and think of you often.
