Kathryn Neudorf (nee Klassen)

1912 - 2010 

Kathryn NeudorfSQ.jpgOn the evening of June 26, 2010 at Salem Home in Winkler, MB Kathryn Neudorf died peacefully. 

She was born to Abram F. and Helena (nee Wiebe) Klassen on October 15, 1912 near Horndean, MB. Kathryn and her family moved to Winkler in 1926, at which time she joined the Winkler Mennonite Brethren Church. After four years of study at the Winkler Bible School, she graduated and was also employed there for 15 years. In 1964, Kathryn married Peter Neudorf and moved to Winnipeg and joined the Portage Avenue M.B. Church. 

Kathryn Neudorf will be remembered for her steadfast Christian faith, her unwavering prayer support for her family, friends and missions; her excellent cooking and baking for hundreds of students and campers at Winkler Bible School and the Winkler Bible Camp as well as her game-playing skills even up to the week before her death. 

She is survived by her two sisters, Susie Klassen and Mary P.B. Dyck; her step-son, Peter and his wife, Helga; grandchildren, Jim and Grace Neudorf, Ken and Freda Neudorf, Kathleen Neudorf and David Petkau and Ann Marie Neudorf as well as six great-grandchildren. Also left to remember her fondly are many nieces and nephews and especially her caregivers, Walter and Donna Klassen and Richard and Barbara Klassen. 

She was predeceased by her husband, Peter in 1983 and nine siblings. 

Family and friends are invited to share in the celebration of Kathryn’s life on Friday July 2, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Winkler Mennonite Brethren Church 120 Pineview Dr. Viewing will be prior to the service. Interment to follow at Winkler Cemetery. 

The family is grateful to Lottie Redekopp whose faithful provision of transportation enabled Kathryn to attend church every Sunday until the fall of 2009. Sincere thanks are also extended to the Salem Home staff that provided wonderful comfort and sensitive care during Kathryn’s last months of life. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kathryn’s name to the Mennonite Brethren Church of Manitoba 1310 Taylor Ave. Winnipeg, MB R3M 3Z6
