Anne Wiebe (nee Unrau)
June 16, 1942 – February 8, 2010
 
wiebe anne.jpgIt is with broken hearts we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Anne Wiebe, at the Health Science Center on February 8, 2010.
 
Anne was predeceased by her father Jacob Unrau, her mother Maria Unrau, her brothers, Jake and Bill Unrau, her sisters Mary Reimer and Kay Cass as well as her nephew Jim Unrau, and niece Angie Schroeder. Her memory will be forever cherished by her husband, Diedrich (Dick) Wiebe, daughter, Marlene Lenton, Son-in-law, Darwin Lenton , grandsons, Derek (Marcy) , Kyle and Jesse Lenton and her pride and joy , her "little peanut" great-granddaughter, Regan Lenton. She is also survived by her brothers, Abe (Nettie) Unrau, Cornie (Evelyn) Unrau; sisters, Helen Remple, Marge (John) Fehr, Sara Martens, Esther (George) Strogel, Judy (Neil) Penner, Betty (Dave) Doerksen, sister-in Law, Verna (Steve) Krasnianski, Liz Unrau and numerous nieces and nephews. 
 
Anne was born in Morden, Manitoba and married Diedrich Wiebe on July 2, 1961. Their only daughter, Marlene was born in 1965. They resided in Carman, Miami, and retired in Steep Rock, Manitoba. Anne worked for many years in the restaurant business and later at Steep Rock General Store. She was an excellent cook and well known for her many varieties of borscht. She enjoyed quilting and doing puzzles and many of her family and friends received gifts of handmade quilts. Her favorite pastimes were to have coffee and cook for her close friends and family. 
 
A very special thank you to all her friends in Steep Rock who assisted Anne when she was ill; the visits, rides to the doctor, cooking, cleaning and company meant a lot to her and her family. Special thank you to Helen Webster and Mandy Gall at Interlake Regional Health office who assisted in making arrangements so Anne was able to stay at home as long as possible, as well as the continuous support given to the family. Thanks to the homecare workers who assisted in the home. A special thank you to the staff at Lakeshore General Hospital and Dr. Rawoof for the compassionate care. Thank you to the friends and family who stayed by her bedside and supported the family while in Winnipeg. 
 
A graveside service was held in Morden, Manitoba on February 12, 2010. Pallbearers were Anne’s nephews; Barry Cass, Donny Fehr, Frank Fehr, Robert Remple, Ken Remple, and Robert Reimer. Honorary Pallbearers for the day were Anne’s grandsons, Derek, Kyle and Jesse Lenton and special great nephew Ryan Cass.
