Tiechrib Evelyn SQ.jpgOn Sunday February 21, 2010, at Boundary Trails Health Centre, Evelyn Teichrib aged 86 years passed away with all her children by her side.

Evelyn was born in the Snowflake district on September 24, 1923. She married Abe Teichrib on October 30, 1941 and they farmed in the Pembina Valley until their retirement to La Riviere in 1978. In 2002, they moved to Morden to be near their family.

Mom was a hard working farm wife; she raised geese, chickens, ducks and turkeys for spending money and always grew and enjoyed a large garden. She cooked many meals for threshing gangs and there was always home cooked food for lunches after toboggan parties and card games with neighbors and friends. She spent countless hours crocheting and knitting for her family and doing jigsaw puzzles. Mom will always be in our hearts; we miss you Mom.

She leaves to mourn her passing 4 daughters, Joan and Ken Stephens of Port Alberni, BC, Gloria and Fred Peters of Morden, Barbara and Gerald Keown of Morden, Sandra and Dick Hamilton of Darlingford and 1 son, Gerald and Ruth Teichrib of Winnipeg; 9 grandchildren, Charmaine, Desmond, Melanie, Michelle, Shuana, Laura, Janice. Matthew, Michael; 11 great grandchildren and 2 sisters, Dorothy of Carman and Shirley of Toronto and 1 brother, Robert of Winnipeg,

She was predeceased by her husband, Abe (2005), sister, Marion Heinrichs and brother, Raymond Milljour.
