Katherine "Tina" Fehr (nee Penner)

On Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, Tina Fehr aged 83 years of Winkler, MB formerly of Osterwick went to her eternal rest. 

Mom was born April 21, 1926. She was the eighth child of 13 born to Jacob and Margareta (nee Goertzen) Penner.  She received her education at Chortitz School, was baptized upon the confession of her faith in 1947 by Bishop Jacob Froese at the Chortitz Old Colony Mennonite Church. Mom and Dad were married on July 25, 1948 in the Sommerfeld Mennonite Church in Winkler.  Mom taught us the importance of family, how to work together and how to laugh together. She has sewn all her great grand children a baby blanket and cooked many a pot of soup and batch of buns to share with family.  

She leaves to mourn her passing 5 daughters, Margaret and David Martens of MacGregor, Anne and Cornie Wolfe of Gladstone, Marie and Henry Martens of Austin, Helen and Klaas Reimer of Winnipeg, Susan and Dennis Fehr of Altona; 6 sons, Jake Fehr of Osterwick, Frank and Helen of Blumstein, John and Martha of Winkler, Marvin and Glenda of Friedensruh, David and Tara of Reinfeld, Peter and Darlene of Chortitz, 33 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 1 sister Marie and Jake Friesen, 3 brothers, John and Helen Penner, George and Clarice Penner and Cornie and Helen Penner as well as 3 sister-in-laws, Helen Penner, Nettie Fehr and Agatha Enns.  

She was predeceased by her husband, Diedrich Fehr in 1999, one daughter, Helen in 1954; three grandchildren, Donald, Kevin and Courtney and one great grandson, Jayden; as well as 4 brothers and 4 sisters.

Funeral service was held on Saturday November 7, 2009 at 2:00 pm at Winkler Sommerfeld Mennonite Church with interment at Osterwick Cemetery. 

The family would like to thank Dr. Allen, and the nurses at both Boundary Trails Health Centre and Health Sciences Centre for the care provided to mom.  We would also like to thank family and friends for their prayers and support during this time.  A special thank you to Bishop Dave Wiebe and Rev Art Wiebe for their support during Mom’s last days.  Thank you to Wiebe Funeral Home, Winkler.
