Stanley "Stan" Robert Cove

1931 - 2009 

Cove Stanley2.jpgIt is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our loving husband, dad, grandpa, brother, brother-in-law and uncle at Boundary Trails Health Centre on July 15, 2009. 

Stan was born in Boissevain, MB on Nov 12, 1931 to William and Doris Cove. He got his grounding in sports and his printing career in Boissevain. He remained active in baseball and hockey for many years and then graduated to golf, bowling and curling. His printing and hockey careers took him to various places landing him in Morden where he eventually owned Morden Commercial Printers. 

Stan was always very active in community service and fraternal organizations. He held many offices in Morden Masonic Lodge and the Order of the Eastern Star, both locally and provincially. He was also an active member of the Pembina Valley Shrine Club. Most recently he held the position of Chairperson of the Morden Senior Citizen’s Friendship Centre. 

He is mourned by his loving wife, Margaret (nee Chapman), his daughter, Deborah Ruth and husband, Barry and their daughter, Meghan; his son, Bradford Cove and his daughters, Katelyn and Hillary with their mother, Nancy; brother, Clare and Peggy Cove and their family, brother, Bill and Lucille Cove, sister-in law, Cathy and Charlie Vanstone and their family, sister-in-law, Gaynor and Peter Mitchell and her family, sister-in-law, Barbara Chapman and her family. 

He was predeceased by his parents, a sister-in-law, two brothers-in-law and parents-in-law. 

Memorial service was held on Monday July 20, 2009 at 2:00 pm at St. Paul’s United Church in Morden. Ash interment followed at Chapel Cemetery. 

The family would like to express their deep appreciation for the love and support provided by Stan’s many friends. They would like to thank Cancer Care MB and the Volunteer Driver Program. They would also like thank Dr. Holmes and the staff at Boundary Trails Health Centre for their excellent care. 

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate that donations be made in Stan’s memory to BTHC Palliative Care Program Box 2000 Winkler, MB R6W 1H8.
