Kelvin John Wiebe

1955 - 2009

On Saturday May 23, 2009 Kelvin Wiebe, aged 53 yeas of Morden. MB passed away unexpectedly.

Kelvin was born on November 9, 1955 in Winkler, MB to Helen (nee Friesen) and Les Wiebe. He graduated from Morden Collegiate High School in 1972. Throughout his high school years and until he was 29, Kelvin worked across Canada on the pipeline. It was during that time that he met his soul mate and love of his life, Kelly Wiebe (nee Oliver). Kelvin and Kelly were married on September 1, 1984. They were best friends and loved and supported each other every day of their lives together. They made their home in Morden and bought a business formally known as Jack Dunbar Agencies that became Morden Realty Inc. Kelvin had a passion for working and has spent the past 25 years as a Broker in Real Estate.

There was nothing more important to Kelvin then his family. One of the biggest joys in his life was watching his two sons, Kyle and Kris grow up. They meant the world to him. Kelvin taught his sons the importance of hard work, honesty, and the value of family. He loved to spend time with family and friends, watch hockey, and fix up his lake home. Golf was one of his favorite pastimes and he successfully won the Morden Minnewasta Men’s Night honors on two different occasions. He also had a love for restoring antique cars. Kelvin’s favorite was his red 1968 Mustang. Every year he participated in the Corn and Apple Show and Shine car show and most recently attended the Barrett Jackson auction in Las Vegas. Kelvin was a member of the Elks service organization and was named Elk of the Year in 1991. He was also involved with the Morden Community Development Corporation (MCDC) for several years.

He is survived by his wife, Kelly Wiebe, sons, Kyle Wiebe and friend, Audrey and Kris Wiebe, his mother, Helen Wiebe, brothers, Ken and Linda, Dennis and Linda, Gary and Bonnie, Laverne and Kathy, as well as his in-laws, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was held at the Morden Recreation Center on Thursday, May 28, 2009 at 2:00 pm. Interment followed at Chapel Cemetery.

Kelvin’s life ended too soon but he left the world a better place for being part of our lives. He will always be remembered for how he lived and what he gave to others. Kelvin was a wonderful son, husband, father and friend. He looked for the best in others and gave the best he had…his life was an inspiration and his memory will live in all of us forever.
