Cornelius "Cornie" Thiessen

1966 - 2009

Accidentally on Friday, October 30, 2009 in the RM of Pembina, MB, it pleased the Lord to take Cornie Thiessen aged 43 years of Darlingford formerly of Morden, MB home to his eternal rest and to be with his mom and dad.

Cornie was born to Jacob and Elizabeth (nee Giesbrecht) Thiessen on June 1, 1966. He was baptized upon the confession of his faith on June 10, 1990. Cornie was a fun-loving person. He was very quick to forgive others, a lesson for all of us. He was always ready to lend a helping hand. He loved the outdoors and had a great love for camping. Cornie had a very hard life especially after his father died when he was only 19 years old. His life took a turn for the better when he met Gloria. They were married on May 27, 2004. We will all miss him greatly, but we will meet him again one day.

He leaves to mourn his passing his beloved wife, Gloria (nee Klassen) of Darlingford; daughter, Patricia and partner Riley; 3 sons, Kevin and partner Krista, Timothy and Hayden; 4 grandsons, Braden, Luke, Drake and Tyrell as well as 5 sisters, Anne and Pete Teichroeb of Winkler, Helen and Henry Neufeld of Blumenort, Kathy Anderson of Calgary, AB, Betty Thiessen of Emerson, Mary and George Fehr of Tolstoi; 4 brothers, Jake and Tina of Winkler, John and Mary of Graysville, Pete and Liz of Reinfeld, Bill Thiessen of Winkler; brother-in-law, Robert Klassen of Tofield, AB; 2 sisters-in-law, Beverly and Tom Neustaedter of Crystal City, Lynda and Moe Lizee of Morden; grandmothers, Helen Klassen of Manitou, Tina Dyck of Winkler, Don and Susan Klassen of Manitou and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, Jacob (1985) and Elizabeth (1998); his grandfathers, Jake Klassen and Stanley Dyck and 1 niece, Kaylee Michelle Neustaedter.

Funeral service was held on Monday, November 9, 2009 at Christian Life Centre in Morden and interment followed at the Chortitz Old Colony Mennonite Church Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the Pastor Derek Lehman, the serving ladies, Wiebe Funeral Home for the great job and also for the many prayers, flowers and words of encouragement. Thank you all very much.
