Jacob H. “Jake” Klassen
1910 - 2008
Jacob H. Klassen of Salem Home in Winkler formerly of Morden, MB went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 2, 2008, at the age of 97 years.
Jake spent his life farming in the Morden area and later retired to the town of Morden. He loved gardening and woodworking and created numerous items for his children. His church and faith in God were central to his life.
He leaves to mourn his passing 3 daughters, Rose and David Froese of Oakville, Linda Klassen of Winnipeg, Peg and Don Neufeld of Ninette; 3 sons, Ted and Anita of North Battleford, SK, Alan and Helen of High River, AB, Dan and Leslie of Portage La Prairie; 19 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and 1 sister, Margaret Baerg.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Mary (nee Loewen) in 1980; his second wife, Mary (nee Penner-Neufeld) in 2000 as well as 1 son, Reuben “Art” Klassen (1999).
Funeral service was held on Saturday, January 5, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Westside Community Church in Morden with Rev. Morris Vincent and Rev. David Friesen officiating. Interment followed at Southside Cemetery.
