Peter A. Wiebe

1915 – 2008

On Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at the Boundary Trails Health Centre it pleased the Lord to call home, Peter A. Wiebe aged 92 years, 11 months and 5 days. 

Dad’s life passion was farming - dairy and grain.  The farming operation was supplemented in the early years by operating heavy machinery for the R.M of Stanley.  Dad and Mom continued farming until 1975 when they moved to Morden.  While residing in Morden, Dad was employed by the town for 7 years.  During this time and even for many years after, Dad continued to come to the farm as often as he could.  He especially enjoyed the spring and fall field work.  In his late eighties, Dad came out to the farm for one last ride on the field with a four wheel drive tractor.  Now he was fully retired.  After Mom passed away in May of 1995, Dad moved to the apartment where he resided until the Lord called him home. 

He leaves to mourn his passing 3 sons, Harry (Doreen), Dave (Anne), Pete (Christine), one daughter Anna-Mae (John Reimer) and their families as well as many friends. 

He was predeceased by his first wife Ida (nee Boehlig) in May of 1995, his second wife Frieda (nee Funk) in January of 2004, one grandson, Christopher Wiebe in June of 1991 and one great grand-daughter, Jaylene Hoeppner in October of 1990. 

Funeral service was held on Saturday August 30, 2008 at 10:30 am at Winkler Sommerfeld Mennonite Church.  Interment followed at Osterwick Cemetery. 

The family wishes to thank the kind and generous staff at the Boundary Trails Health Centre who took care of Dad during his short hospital stay.  Thank you to the many friends and family for prayers and words of encouragement.  Thank you to the kind and professional staff at Wiebe Funeral Home for your guidance.  Thank you to all who took part in the funeral service.  May God Bless you all!
