Jared Klaas Friesen

1991 –2007

Friesen, Jared.jpgOn Friday, September 14, 2007 at his residence in Reinfeld, MB Jared Friesen aged 16 years passed on to the heavenly shore.

Jared was born on September 5, 1991 at the Bethel Hospital in Winkler, MB.  He lived his 16 years with his parents, brother and sister in the village of Reinfeld.  Jared attended Winkler Elementary School for grades K-8 and Garden Valley Collegiate for grades 9-11.

At the age of nine while attending camp at Moose Lake, Jared accepted Christ as his personal Saviour.  He eagerly anticipated weekly youth nights at the Grace Mennonite Church for the last 4 years.

Jared had an immense appreciation for the “Great Outdoors”.  This included annual fishing and canoeing trips.  Jared also enjoyed the numerous campouts with his friends on the Reinfeld dikes.  He loved to ride his dirtbike, snowmobile, go-kart and as of recently, he enjoyed being behind the wheel of a car.

This last spring, Jared eagerly participated in the construction of a family cabin in the Pembina Valley.  He made numerous treks through the bush with lumber and supplies.  His hard work was appreciated.  Jared thoroughly enjoyed this family project.

He leaves to mourn his passing his parents, Jerry and Margaret (nee Wiebe) Friesen of Reinfeld; 1 brother, Paul; 1 sister, April and his grandparents, Philip and Elizabeth Wiebe of Winkler and Abe and Olga Friesen of Reinfeld as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Funeral service held on Thursday, September 20, 2007 at 11:00 am at Winkler Bergthaler Mennonite Church with Rev. Dale Dueck and youth Pastor Cory Kehler officiating.  Interment followed at the Reinfeld Cemetery.

Donations may be made to assist the family with funeral expenses or in Jared’s memory to the Stonehouse Youth Ministry at Garden Valley Collegiate C/O Cory Kehler 7 Durum Cr. Winkler, MB R6W 1E2.

Jared was a kind person who accepted people for who they were.  We are so thankful for all the wonderful memories. Love, your family.

“You are a very good son….it doesn’t get any better.”

Love, Mom and Dad.
