Dreidger Margaret.jpgOn Saturday, September 1, 2007 at Boundary Trails Health Centre, Margaret Driedger (nee Thiessen) aged 68 years 4 months and 9 days of Morden, formerly of Winkler, MB passed away peacefully after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Margaret was born in Winkler on April 22, 1939.  She was the second child of Jacob and Agatha (nee Sawatzky) Thiessen of Friedensfeld.  She married Jacob Raymond (Ray) Driedger on September 1, 1967.  They were happily married for 40 years and resided in Morden for the last 27 years where they raised their family.

She always had a positive outlook on life.  Her most common saying to her children was “Be all there.”  Margaret was passionate about gardening.  She readily shared from the bounty of her garden.  Margaret also loved to sing and could often be found singing in the kitchen.  She was also a prayer warrior, diligently praying for family, friends and anyone she met who was in need.  She was constantly challenging and encouraging other in their walk with God.  Her grandchildren were also very important to her.  She enjoyed sharing stories during “tea time” and sharing sweet treats which they always looked forward to.

She was predeceased by 1 daughter, Angie in infancy; 1 granddaughter, Kaela Klassen in infancy; 1 sister, Katherine Groening; 1 brother Henry in infancy as well as her parents.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her husband, Ray Driedger of Morden; 1 daughter, Christina and Glen Klassen of Winkler (grandchildren, Eric, Adam, Alyssa); 1 son, Garth Driedger of Morden.  She is also survived by 3 sisters, Agatha and Ed Shuel, Elsie and Cornie Klassen, Marianne and Robert Allen; 3 brothers, Abe and Bonnie Thiessen, Jake and Martha Thiessen, Bill Thiessen and brother-in-law, Bob Groening and their families.

Funeral service was held on Thursday, September 6, 2007 at 2:00 pm at Winkler Bergthaler Mennonite Church with Rev. Menno Janzen and Rev. Glen Klassen officiating.  Interment followed at Winkler Cemetery.
