Elsa “Elsie” Allen (nee Harder)

Allen, Elsie.jpgOn Tuesday August 2, 2005, Elsie Allen (nee Harder) aged 78 years, of Morden, MB, formerly of Thornhill, passed away at her residence.

She leaves to mourn her beloved husband, Ernie Allen of Morden; 1 daughter, Beverly and Tracy Baker of Winnipeg and their children, Tessa, Zachary and Devon; 1 son, Brian and Tina Allen of Thornhill and their children Carina, Brady and Chad.

She was predeceased by 3 sisters.

Elsie loved to cook for her family and friends.  She always treasured her grandchildren.  Elsie’s kindness and caring ways made her the special woman she was.  Elsie’s house was filled with numerous ornaments, full of color.  Her home was warm and always inviting.

Other hobbies that Elsie enjoyed were gardening, whether it was flowers or vegetables.  She enjoyed friendship and fellowship with the Thornhill UCW women of the United Church.  Elsie and Ernie enjoyed playing dominoes and cards with numerous friends.  Elsie also enjoyed her many years as a “Winter Texan” where she made many new friends.

The Lord saw Elsie’s beautiful soul and called Elsie home to share his heavenly kingdom with her.  She will sadly missed by her friends and family.

Funeral service was held on Friday, August 5, 2005 at St. Paul’s United Church in Morden, MB, at 2:00 p.m. with Doug Craig officiating.  Interment followed at the Knightcot Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Elsie’s memory to Cancer Care Manitoba 675 McDermot Ave. Room ON109, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
