Born in the Letellier area on Dec. 5, 1909, she departed this world on May 27, 2005 at the age of 95.

She is survived by 3 daughters, Inette Asmundson of Piney, MB, Evelyn and Ralph Otto of Ashern, MB, Myrna and Oscar Coyle of St. Albert, AB; 1 son, Jim and Yvonne Holtz of Airdrie, AB; 12 grandchildren and 3 generations of great grandchildren.  Her family was the joy of her life.

She was predeceased by her husband, Adolf (1987); 1 son at birth; 1 step-son; 2 step-daughters; 3 sons-in-law; 2 grandsons.  She was also predeceased by her parents Cornelius and Helena Wall and 9 siblings.

In 1939, Lena married Adolf Holtz and settled in the Dunston area where they raised their family.  In 1960, they retired to 13th St. in Morden, where they lived till Adolf moved to the Salem Home in Winkler.  Lena then moved to the Legion House Apts. where she enjoyed life for 20 years.  Due to ill health, she moved to the Tabor Personal Care Home in 2001.  She always claimed that she could not ask for a better place to be.  Many thanks to the staff and volunteers at the Tabor Home.  The one thing she missed after retiring from the farm was the animals which she loved dearly.  Lena was very creative.  She was well known for all the stuffed animals she made and sold worldwide.

A celebration of life was held at 2:00 pm at the Wiebe Funeral Chapel in Morden, MB with Gary Braun officiating.  Internment followed at the Hillside Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Tabor Personal Care Home, 239 9th St. South, Morden, MB R6M 1Y3.

Wiebe Funeral Chapel, Morden in care of arrangements.
