Wiebe, Katherina “Tina”

Katherina “Tina” Wiebe

1907 - 2004

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of our Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother of Winkler at the Boundary Trails Health Centre on Friday January 23rd, 2004, with the family at her side.  She leaves to cherish her memory her children: John & Marilyn Wiebe, Arthur & Anne Wiebe, Peter & Loraine Wiebe, Esther & Frank Kasunish, and David & Vivian Wiebe.  Mother is fondly remembered by 17 grandchildren & 26 Great-Grandchildren. Mother is also survived by her 4 sisters: Nettie (Jake) Dyck, Annie (Peter) Harder, Susanna (Wilferd) Wilcock, & Margaret (Frank) Peters. She also had many relatives, friends and church family.

She was predeceased by her Husband Bernhard “B” on Dec. 31, 1978, 1 son Henry in infancy, & 1 great-grandson, Michael.

On July 26, 1927, Mother was joined in Holy Matrimony with Bernhard Wiebe and settled on several farmers in the Rosefarm School District, and also just north of Horndean. It was in her early years of marriage that she renewed her faith with the Lord, was baptized, and joined the fellowship of the Grossweide Mennonite Brethern Church. Her greatest passions were her faith life and caring for her family. She loved her work in her gardens, her numerous church activities, Bible reading, Bible study groups, fellowship with others, and spent much time in prayer and communion with the Lord.

After her retirement from the farm in 1968, she resided in Plum Coulee. Shortly after the loss of her husband, Mother moved to Winkler with her final home being the Lions Manor. Here she lived independently until she was admitted into the Boundary Trails Health Centre. We as family want to express our greatest appreciation to the medical staff of the Boundary Trails Health Centre for all their loving care.

We are sorrowing, yet rejoicing. Mother is saying with Paul “ I have fought a good fight, I have finished the race. I have kept the faith… Henceforth there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award me on that day.” II Tim. 4:7-8
