Gladys Lillian “Jones” Baragar

1936 – 2004

Peacefully, with her family at her side, our beloved mother and grandmother, Gladys Lillian Baragar (Jones), at the age of 68 went to be with her Lord and Saviour.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, two sisters, Dorothy and Shirley and one brother Floyd Jones, three daughters, Lucinda “Cindy” Richards and Jeff Carter-Squire of Winnipeg, Patricia and Terry Kidd of Winnipeg; Dianne and Greg Zyloway of Swift Current, Sk, and one son Richard and Caroline of Morinville, AB; grandchildren Laurie, Kelvin, William, Nicholas, Theresa, Julie, Wesley and Kathleen.

Gladys was predeceased by her husband William Jones (1999); one infant daughter, Kerry Dawn in 1961, her parents Clifford and Ina Jones, and her stepmother Isabel.

Gladys married Bill Jones in 1955 and settled in La Riviere where they raised their four children, Cindy, Pat, Dianne and Rick. Gladys and Bill moved to Manitou in 1982 enjoying the farm life. Gladys enjoyed spending her time with the animals she raised.

Mom loved being around people, she worked for many years with people, also her love of animals, especially horses, brought her continued enjoyment. Her children and grandchildren were very special to her, spending as much time as she could with them.

A graveside memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 25, 2004 at 2:00 pm at Riverside Cemetery, La Riviere with Rev. Laurie Simpson officiating. Reception will follow at La Riviere United Church.

On behalf of the family we would like to give our sincere thanks to the staff at Pembina Manitou Health centre for the wonderful care and support that was given to Gladys. We all greatly appreciated it.

If friends so desire donations may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 2345 Yonge Street Suite 900, Toronto, ON M4P 2E5.

Wiebe Funeral Chapel, Morden in care of arrangements.
