Aganetha Reimer
1908 - 2003
With great sorrow, we announce the passing of Aganetha Reimer of Morden, our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, age 95 years, on Jan. 27, 2002 at the Boundary Trails Health Centre with her daughters Mary, Nettie, Helen, Grandson Tom Pankiw and nephew Ron Zacharias at her side.
Aganetha was born on Aug. 25, 1906 to the parents of Johann and Helena Wiebe of Hochfeld, Manitoba. In 1926 she was baptized upon profession of her Christian faith. She married John Reimer on Dec. 5, l926 and together they raised ten children. Mom was a wonderful home maker, she enjoyed painting, drawing, crocheting and quilting, which she did until being admitted to hospital. Mom especially enjoyed quilting as a charity for the M.C.C. Mom was a devoted Christian and never sent a card without a hand written word of scripture, with the exception of last Christmas. She was a loving wife and mother and showed much concern for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Aganetha was predeceased by her beloved husband John in 1995, son-in-law Lloyd Nagazina and grandson Joey Pankiw. She leaves to mourn five sons; John & Doreen of Winnipeg, Pete & Betty of Nipawin, Jake & Carol of Red Deer, Bill & Linda of Edmonton, Jerry & Gloria of Saskatoon, five daughters; Nettie & David Abernethy of Penticton, Liz Nagazina of Morden, Helen & Roman Pankiw of Dufrost, Mary & Archie Miller of Morden, Susan & Rab Wiebe of Winkler, twenty-six grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held on Friday, February 1, 2002, 2:00 p.m. at Morden Alliance Church with Rev. Doug Gerrard and Pastor Jake Buhler officiating. Interment followed at the Hillside Cemetery, Morden.
