Judy Peters
1915 - 2003
On Saturday, February 15, 2003 at the Salem Home, Judy Peters, age 87 years of Salem Home went to her eternal rest.
She was born to Frank and Elizabeth Peters on December 4, 1915 in Reinland, Mb. In 1922 her family moved to Reinland, Mexico. Bishop Issac Dyck baptized her in the Old Colony Church, in Mexico.
After her parents died she moved back to Canada in 1983 and lived with a brother, and later moved into an apartment. She attended the Reinland Mennonite Church and was accepted there as a member in 1997.
Judy had a love for animals, always naming her farm animals when she lived in Mexico (Rooster named Isabelle, cat named Pussy) and she often talked about her hundreds of cats when she lived in Canada.
She was a very quiet lady, always loving and kind. She was dedicated to going to church and loved to make people smile by rhyming words.
Judy was in a wheelchair for 7 years and in the hospital for 8 months before she moved to Salem Home. She lived at Salem for 1 year and 3 months.
She was predeceased by 3 brothers, 4 sisters, and one brother in infancy.
She is survived by one sister-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday February 19, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at the Reinland Mennonite Church. interment followed at the Reinland Cemetery.
