Anna J. Peters
1929 - 2003
Our loving Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother was born September 11th, 1909 to her parents Franz and Margaretha Sawatzky in Gnadenthal, South Russia. Mom was baptized upon the confession of her faith on May 20, 1929 by Altester Johann P. Bueckerter and joined the Blumenorter Mennonite Church where she remained a life long member.
On June 1, 1935 she married our father Jacob P. Peters. After Dad spent several years as a farm laborer, our parents bought a farm in Gnadenthal in 1938. They lived there until 1978 when they retired in Winkler.
Following Dad's passing mom moved to a condominium in the fall of 1985. On December 31, 1990 Mom was admitted to the Bethel Hospital in Winkler following a fall and sudden severe confusion. She remained in Hospital until she was admitted to the Salem Home on February 5, 1991. In June of 1992 Mom sustained a broken hip, following which she was confined to a wheelchair. The following almost 11 years continued in a long and progressive decline in her health, which resulted in her demise on the evening of June 4, 2003 at the age of 93 years, 8months, and 24 days.
Mom was predeceased by her parents Franz and Margaretha Sawatzky, husband Jacob in 1984, her daughter Helen in 1987, 4 sisters and 2 brothers.
She is survived by her son John & Evelyn of Steinbach, daughters Elsie and Dick Hildebrand of Steinbach, and Margaret and Frank Dyck of Mission, BC; 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 5 step grandchildren; 12 step great grandchildren and 1 sisters Nettie Wiebe.

Two tired eyes are resting,
Two willing hands are still;
The one who always worked so hard,
Is resting in God's Will.
God saw you getting tired,
He knew you needed rest;
His garden must be beautiful,
He only takes the best.
Rest in peace, Mom.
We love you, The Family
