Daniel Friesen

Daniel Ross Friesen

1974 - 2003

Daniel Ross Friesen was born November 4, 1974 to Jake and Ruth Friesen.  In his years of growing up, Winkler was his home.  It was during his years of attending school that Daniel's artistic abilities really blossomed.  Art was a way in which he expressed himself and displayed the amazing creative person he was.

As he grew up, he surprized us over and over with his abilities and gifts.  We wondered if there was anything he couldn't do - and do SO WELL!

Daniel's family and friends meant everything to him.  He loved passionately, unselfishly, wanting so much to give of himself to everyone.  In spite of Daniel's illness and times of deep darkness, he blessed our lives with his kindness, his sense of humor, and inspired us with his great dreams of life.  The greatest gift Daniel left was to strengthen us with his beautiful spirit and love for God which overflowed, touching everyone in his life.

He could not stay here on earth.  His strength was gone and he longed to go home where he knew he belonged.

Daniel will always be our big, powerful angel, watching over each of us, helping us to go on, until the day we can join him.  Then he shall share with us the beauty of heaven.

Rejoicing with Daniel in his new life are his parents, his sisters and brothers-in-law Rhonda and Mark, Tricia and Russell, Linda and Jayson, his nieces Robin, Jaime and Jaylin, his nephews Joseph, Jacob and Carter, his grandmother, many aunts, uncles and cousins and all the friends that loved him.

Daniel, we give you our blessing, we've let you go, now fly!

A private service was held Friday February 14, 2003 at Wiebe Funeral Chapel Winkler, Rev. Bernie Loeppky officiating.  Interment followed at the Winkler Cemetery.
