Heather Louise Jesperson (nee Young)

1966-2001

Suddenly on November 30th 2001, Heather Louise Jesperson, beloved wife of Joel Jesperson, passed away at her home in Conway Arkansas U.S.A.

She leaves to mourn her passing and cherish her memory, her husband Joel, two sons, Lars Kristian aged 4 years and Hayden Magnus aged 18 months, her loving parents, Lois and Dr. Kenneth Young and her grandmother Alma Young.

She was predeceased by her grandfather Alex Young of Manitou and her grandparents Johannes and Heida Johnson of Oakview Manitoba.

Heather was born in Winnipeg in 1966 and moved to the U.S.A. along with her parents. She received her early education in Lubbock Texas and graduated from high school with top honors. Heather had a love of music. She played the piano beautifully and went on to receive awards from the State for her accomplishments.

Heather attended the University of Arkansas, Little Rock where she minored in Music, earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, R.N. and qualified in the specialty of Nurse Practitioner in Geriatric nursing. She became a staff nurse at University of Arkansas Medical Centre, one of the largest hospitals in Little Rock. She was voted Nurse of the Month in 2001 for her work there where she had many friends. There can be little doubt that she became a nurse to follow in the footsteps of her dear mother who had set such a fine example for her.

Early in her career Heather recognized that curing and caring were the most, and equally important, aspects of her profession. She was known to go back many times after hours and on her own time, to sit with the patients that needed her the most, especially those without understanding family or friends who would be able to help them in dealing with their deepest concerns and worries. Is it surprising that many were to become her dear friends?

She will be lovingly remembered by her aunts and uncles, many cousins and friends in both Canada and U.S.A. Murray Young (Marilyn), Glenn Young, David Young (Bonnie), Jim Young (Susan), Linda Pincock, Audrey Norberg (William), Norma Kristjansson (Gestur), Thelma Myrdal (Mundi), F. Gerald Johnson (Verna), Dr. Herman Johnson.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Friday, December 7th, 2001 at Manitou United Church 338 Hamilton Street Manitou.
