Mary Horky

1908-2001

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, Mary Horky on Friday Aug. 24, 2001 at Boundary Trails Health Centre. She was 93 years of age. She will be sadly missed by her son Jack, daughter Jane Zegil and husband Art, son Bill and wife Dianne, brother Bill, her six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, Anton and Anne Bulin in 1958, five brothers and one sister, her husband Jacob in 1963 and son Rudy in 1998.

Her family and friends will remember her for her giving ways. She loved her garden and was always sharing it with neighbors and friends. She was an excellent seamstress and clothes designer, and all of her children were the recipients of her talents and generosity.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Lane, Dr. Jacobs, and the nurses and staff at the Boundary Trails Health Centre for their compassionate care and kindness.

According to her wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Thursday, August 30, 2001, 8:00pm at Wiebe Funeral Home, Winkler. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mom’s memory to the Boundary Trails Health Centre, Box 2000, Station Main, Winkler, MB. R6W 1H8.

Softly in that “Place of Rest”

Angels came and carried Mother

To that “Haven of the Blest.”

“Dearest Mother, you have left us

We will miss your loving ways

But your patience, faith and courage

We’ll remember all our days.”

“We will try, Oh Loving Mother

Just to do as you have asked

Then we’ll meet with you in Heaven

Safe in Jesus’ arms at last.”
