Olga Wiens

1914 - 2001

 

On Monday September 24, 2001, at Boundary Trails Health Centre, Olga Wiens, age 87 years, of Winkler, formerly of Chortitz, went to her eternal rest.

 

She was predeceased by father Nickolai J. & Elizabeth Wiens (nee Bergman).  She leaves to mourn her passing her church family and many friends.

 

Olga's many friends enjoyed her gifts of hospitality and cheerfulness.  She relished the opportunity to entertain company for meals and events like birthdays and special holidays.  Her faith was deep and strong in the face of loneliness and adversity.     

 

Funeral service was held on Thursday, September 27th, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. at the Winkler Bergthaler Mennonite Church, with Rev. Menno Janzen, Rev. John P. Klassen, and Rev. Ed Plett (graveside service) officiating.  Interment followed at the Winkler Cemetery.
