Howard Wesley Bond
1916 - 2001
On Monday, October 1, 2001, Howard Bond died at the Tabor Home, Morden at age 85 years.
He is survived by his wife Betty and his brother Frank.
Howard was born in Darlingford and grew up there, attending Darlingford school.
He worked as a mechanic until war broke out. He then enlisted in the R.C.A.F. and served 2 tours of duty as air crew in a bomber. When he returned home he worked again as a mechanic in Clearwater and then came back home to establish his own garage business.
He was very interested in antique cars and tractors, and the highlight of his year was to go to the Thresherman's Reunion at Austin and drive an antique tractor in the parade.
However due to illness he has been a resident first at the Tabor Apartments, and lately at the Tabor Home.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial service was held Saturday, Oct. 6, 2001, 1:30pm at Wiebe Funeral Chapel, Morden with Jeri Bjornson officiating. Ash interment followed at Darlingford Cemetery.
