Cornelius W. Martens

May 31, 1921 - May 13, 2001

 

 

 

Our Dad went to be with the Lord after a lengthy illness after heart surgery.

 

He is survived by his wife Ann, wife of 54 years of marriage; 4 children Thelma & Abe of Calgary, AB.; Alvin & Mary of Chilliwack, B.C.; Brent & Lori of Calgary, AB.; Deanna of Winnipeg.  Cornie also has 8 grandchildren Greg, Krista, Jodie & Dave, Michael, Patrick, Kaylee, Courtney, Jordan, and 1 great granddaughter Brittney who was born on his birthday.  He also leaves to mourn 3 sisters Helena Giesbrecht; Mary Thiessen; Nettie & Jake Peters; 1 brother John & Sue Martens.

 

Cornelius was predeceased by his parents Helena & Cornelius Martens and 2 brothers and 1 sister.

 

Funeral service Thursday, May 17, 2001, 2:00pm, Church of God, Morden with Pastor Roger Stewart & Rev. Morris Vincent officiating.  Interment will follow at Southside Cemetery, Morden.  

 

We as family, would like to thank all the staff at the H.S.C. in S.I.C.U. and I.I.C.U. and M.I.C.U., for all the care you gave our Dad.  We would also like to thank all our relatives, friends for the ongoing prayers and support you gave our family for such a long time.
