Anne Grace Fehr (nee:Elias)
1912 - 2001
On Friday morning, February 2, 2001, Anne passed away peacefully in her home at the age of 88. She is survived by her husband David A. Fehr. Together they enjoyed 64 years of married life. She is also survived by her daughter Mary-Anne and her husband Jake Friesen and grandchildren Jeremy and his wife Michelle, Joel, Merrilee, and Melanie; daughter Susan and her husband Glenn Friesen and grandchildren Chris and Andrea. She is also survived by two sisters and one brother.
Anne was born on December 31, 1912, the oldest daughter of William & Annie Elias. She grew up in Haskett and received her schooling there as well as at MCI in Gretna. Anne married David A. Fehr on May 24, 1936. Together they ran a store in Haskett until 1947, when they moved to Morden. There she continued to work alongside Dave in their business until the birth of their daughters.
Anne accepted the Lord in her younger years and shared His love with many who crossed her path. She was always open to give a helping hand to someone in need, lend a listening ear or offer hospitality. She was active in church, teaching Sunday school, serving on various Ladies' groups, and involved in Bible studies. She participated in various community organizations such as Gideons, Children's Aid, United Way, and Hospital Aid. She loved gardening, and especially enjoyed all her flowers. She also loved travelling.
She was predeceased by her parents, two brothers, two sisters (and one who died in childhood), and one grandchild who died in infancy.
The funeral service was held on Monday February 5, 2001 at the Morden E.M.M. Church with Pastor Jake Friesen (son-in-law) & Pastor Harv Warkentin officiating. Interment followed at Southside Cemetery.
