Frank J. Zacharias
Frank J. Zacharias was born to Jacob and Anna Zacharias on November 22, 1913 in Schoenwiese, MB. He was predeceased by his parents and thirteen brothers and sisters. He spent most of his school years in the Mountain City School District before the family moved to Reinland.
Frank accepted Jesus Christ as his Saviour as a young man and was baptized on June 7, 1938, in the Reinland Rudnerweide Church. He was active in the Winkler EMM Church.
Frank married Anne Letkeman on December 8, 1940 in Reinland. After farming for some years in the Kaleida and Bagot areas, they moved to Winkler. Frank worked as a carpenter and spent fifteen years working at Triple E before retiring.
Frank was a quiet patient man who showed his love by the things he did. He kept active in carpentry and his handiwork is reassured by the family. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, fishing and other sports.
Frank suffered a stroke on January 8th. After a brief hospital stay, God called him home to spend eternity with Him on January 13, 1997 at the age of 83.
Frank will be lovingly remembered by his wife Anne and his four daughters: Trudie Ellis with children Michael and Josi; Esther (Ike Penner) with children Shanna, Randy (Anita), Jody (Denyse), Jennifer (Dwayne Wiebe), Renita (Jonathan Peters), Rick (Grace); Lydia; Sharon (Ron Enns) with children Cole, Heather and Megan; also seven great-grandchildren. Frank is survived by his brother George and wife Margaret, sisters-in-law Sarah Zacharias and Mary Zacharias, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services were held Friday, January 17th at the Winkler EMM Church, with interment at the Winkler Cemetery.
