Mathilda (Tillie) Bollenbach – Nee Tempel


Peacefully on April 27, 1997 Tillie Bollenbach passed away at age 96, at the Tabor Personal Care Home in Morden.

Predeceased by her husband Gustav in 1978 and one son Lawrence in 1960, and two grandchildren Bryan Mudge in 1990, and Judy (Dudgeon) Hoes in 1992.

She is survived by four daughters and three sons, Ruth (Albert) Mudge, Lydia (George) Andrew, Walter (Lenora) Bollenbach, Helen Borthwick, Marion (Allan) Dudgeon, Herman (Jean) Bollenbach, Harold Bollenbach, all of Morden, and twenty-one grandchildren and their respective spouses, and thirty-six great grandchildren.

Mother, Mathilda Tempel, was born on October 8, 1900 in Josephburg Austria, and immigrated to her sister Sophie Reichert’s place at Thornhill Manitoba in 1920. She married Gustav Bollenbach in 1922 and they farmed at Thornhill Manitoba. In 1952 they moved to Morden and mother resided in their home until 1985. She then moved to an apartment and later to the Tabor Home.

She took great pride in her grandchildren and great grandchildren’s accomplishments. She was an active worker in her Church and community. She enjoyed her activities such as gardening, baking, and quilting.

To family and friends she was always a source of great support. She lived in the joy of what she brought to other people.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday May 1, 1997 at 2:00pm at the St. Paul’s United Church, Morden with Rev. Kerry Craig officiating. Interment will follow at the Hillside Cemetery, Morden.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to all the staff at the Tabor Home for their compassionate care and support.
