Frank Wiebe
1921 – 2008
On
Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at Salem Home in Winkler, MB, Frank Wiebe formerly of
Burwalde aged 86 years passed away peacefully in his sleep.
Frank Wiebe, husband, father and grandfather was born on October 3, 1921 in the Burwalde school district to Peter P. and Margaret (nee Thiessen) Wiebe. Frank and Anne (nee Loewen) were married October 1, 1949 and raised 2 children on the home place. They farmed, raised horses and later had a PMU operation. When Frank’s health no longer allowed him to do these things, his son, Rick took over.
He loved his family (especially his 2 granddaughters) as well as other people, music, horses, mules and trail rides. He rededicated his life to Jesus Christ later in life. As his health deteriorated, Dad spent the last 2 ½ years of his life in Salem Home. During this time, the staff at Salem were loving and compassionate to Dad and our family as well. The family extends sincerest thanks to everyone who helped make this time as comfortable as possible.
He leaves to mourn his passing his beloved wife of 58 years, Anne Wiebe of Winkler; 1 daughter, Margo and Larry Friesen of the Morden district; 1 son, Rick F. and Barb Wiebe of Burwalde; 2 granddaughters, Tanya and Bryan Gerbrandt of Morden, Dusty and Brad Dunn of Carman as well as 3 sisters, Esther Enns of Abbotsford, BC, Alvina and John McLaughlin of Parksville, BC, Marjorie and Rev. Jerry Hildebrand of Winkler; many nieces and nephews and friends.
We wouldn’t give him up to anyone but You, Lord.
Funeral service was held on Friday, April 18, 2008 at 2:00 pm Trinity Lutheran Church. Interment took place at Winkler Cemetery.
If friends so desire, donations may be made the Gideon Memorial Bible Plan Box 778 Winkler, MB R6W 4A8 or to the charity of one’s choice.
Where the Roses Never Fade
I am going to a city where the street with gold are laid,
Where the tree of life is blooming and the roses never fade.
In this world we have our troubles, Satan’s snares we must evade,
We’ll be free from all temptations where the roses never fade.
Loved ones gone to be with Jesus in their robes of white arrayed,
Now are waiting for my coming where the roses never fade.
Here they bloom but for a season, soon their beauty is decayed;
I am going to a city where the roses never fade.
