David Friesen

1957 – 2008

On Monday, May 5, 2008 at Boundary Trails Health Centre, Dave Friesen aged 50 years of Winkler, MB passed away peacefully.

Dave was born July 25, 1957 and spiritually born again on May of 1977.  He married Helen Giesbrecht on August 7, 1977 and they were blessed with 8 children.  He worked at Jodale Perry for 27 years.  On August 9, 2006, Dave was diagnosed with stomach cancer.

He leaves to mourn his passing his beloved wife Helen of Winkler; 3 daughters, Helen and Dan Reimer (Seth, Abi), Anna and John Fehr, Martha and Pete Fehr; 4 sons, Juan and Liza, David and Susan (Kelly, Jesse), Cornie and Joanne (Kira), Rick Friesen.

He was predeceased by his parents, Johann and Susanna (nee Thiessen) Friesen and 1 son in infancy.

Funeral service was held on Thursday, May 8, 2008 at 2:00 pm at Zion Mennonite Church with Rev. Bill Thiessen officiating.  Interment took place at Zion Mennonite Church Cemetery in Schanzenfeld, MB.

Our deepest thanks to family and friends for their prayers, cards, flowers, food and visits.  A special thank you to Dr. Basson for his personal care and attention, Dr. Woelk and to the nurses at BTHC.

Dave’s wish was that we take more time to encourage and uplift the people we meet on a daily basis.
